Round 9

Well here I am sitting writing this on Monday morning and its raining really hard, so I guess we were really lucky yesterday with the weather.

It was good to see a few new faces yesterday and also to see Steven’s 10th electric brushless car really putting in some fast lap times, I hope that next year we can attract a few more of these as it would appear that the track suits them quite well. Roy had travelled all the way from the New Forest area, he did have a few problems during the day, but to those that helped him out, thanks, I hope we see you again soon Roy.

The track quite quickly gave some good lap times, Paul Keeble was giving his Outlaw its first outing and was setting some great times from the off, I am sure there is more to come yet. Poor Lee Streeter had a run away with his MCD not too sure what happened but the aftermath did not look too good. Chris McHugo is slowing getting to grips with his F1 and only just failed to take the win in the Final by under 0.5 sec.

Full results are on the website.

We should be ok to race our last round on the 18th October, if there are any problems with this then I will post on the Forum.

Don’t forget the AGM is on 21st November 6.30pm start at the Angmering Village hall (same place as last year).

Sunday saw some good weather and although numbers were down again, some great racing, with an impressive line up of Trucks a few Outlaws and just two F1's.

Grip was hard to come by to start with but soon came up as the meeting progressed. As the 20 minute finals approached, the sun was out for the Trucks and Outlaws but rain threatened before the F1's were due out, fortunately this avoided us.

In the Trucks we had a win for Andy Scholes who had had a troubled Qualifiying with various problems throughout the day, Neil Young won the Outlaws and Pete took the F1 win by under a second.

Next meeting is 4th October, see you there.

Sorry for the delay in posting the Round 7 Results, but straight after the meeting I was off on holiday and then work and other things (my memory) and I forgot to do it.

We don’t normally hold meetings in August due to people being on holiday, and this I think kept the numbers down, but those that were present had a good day.

Well here we are at the half way stage in the Championship already and again I hope you all enjoyed what I thought was another great meeting, then again I would as I was running it.

Again we had drivers at the track all day Saturday getting in some practice. I apologise to those of you that arrived early on Sunday only to find the gates shut, a bit of a misunderstanding or communication breakdown was to blame, still it was soon sorted once I arrived.

Round 4 took place on Sunday 7th June, it had been raining hard overnight but on arrival at the track it was dry, and it stayed this way all day until just after we left the track as some reported arriving home in the rain. In fact the weather was pretty good and most were in T Shirts all day.
